Stoke the Fire in Your Relationship

This Week’s Practice

  • This week, put some energy into your relationship. How can you best improve it?
  • Do you need to dedicate more mind/heart space to your partner?
  • Do you need to foster more admiration, fondness, and appreciation?
  • How frequently do you “turn towards” your partner?
  • What special family celebrations, traditions, and routines do you have? Can you add more?

The Takeaway:
Your relationship is only as good as the energy you put into it. Research shows that passion can last a lifetime — it needn’t fade!

Keep Working On…
Your new conflict resolution skills:

  • Practice expressing appreciation and using “I statements” when you raise an issue
  • Staying calm during an argument
  • Accepting the influence of your partner when you are in a disagreement
